DDT-dada is a newly formed artist group that collectively investigates post-Dadaist possibilities for tackling contemporary art. Together, the group works in a tradition of Dadaism/Situationism and appears both on existing stages and in various other spaces.
DDT-dada consists of eight characters who, like Commedia dell’arte, all have a specific costume/persona that they act from. All have a professional background in the visual arts or theater and want to maintain their anonymity by operating under a pseudonym; Tango Kutukutu, Khalos arms, Tita Bolzano, Flagellum Dei, Klaus Lobano, Rabbi Cent, Emiton Emanon Arev and Filidoro.
The group has previously participated in various constellations with performance at Cabaret Voltaire in Zurich during Manifesta 11, the 13festival in Gothenburg 2020 and 2023, recorded and showed site-specific film on a roof in Gamlestaden’s factories in collaboration with “The Tailor as Rebel” and “European Creative Rooftop” in Gothenburg 2020. DDT could be seen in connection with the opening of the Gothenburg Film Festival in January 2021 when they did small actions and showed one of their films outside the entrance to the Stora Teatern. A happening was made in Way Out West 2023 and other impacts have been made at “The Epidemic of Art” in Gothenburg, “Pilarne” at Tjörn as well as performances at Gallery Dada in Prishtina and at Hotel Central at Manifesta 14 in Prishtina.
